Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a very effective short-term therapy used to help people control their mental health to help them to get better and more importantly to stay better. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is designed to produce changes in thinking and therefore resulting in changes to behaviour or mood. Restoring the Balance The programme has been designed to be used in settings where post-session support is available, but can also be offered as a stand-alone programme for well-motivated users working on their own. It uses simple instructions, text and graphics making it particularly suitable for people who have limited (or no) experience of using computers. It comes complete with accompanying worksheets. Overcoming BulimiaOvercoming Bulimia is an interactive self-help programme for use by individuals suffering from bulimia. The programme was developed by Calypso at the University of Leeds and is based on a cognitive behavioural therapy approach to treatment. The programme helps the user to understand and overcome their bulimia and teach vital confidence building skills.
