Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

We are looking for motivated Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) to join our psychological wellbeing service in St Helens. The post holders will work in a multi-disciplinary team, which includes other PWPs, HITs and Clinical Psychology within a stepped care model to provide a range of NICE approved low intensity interventions for depression and anxiety disorders. Treatment will be delivered through a range of modalities including face-to-face work, telephone therapy and facilitating structured groups. The successful candidates will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, highly motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload and will have successfully completed an approved IAPT PWP PGCert/Diploma. Self Help Services can provide excellent opportunities for ongoing personal and professional development through regular supervision and training opportunities. Counsellor

Self Help Services is seeking to recruit 4 motivated individuals, with the skills and passion required to work as A Counsellor,. The job will require working with clients from the local community who are experiencing distress and common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, bereavement and trauma. The successful candidates will also be committed to working within the organisation’s vision and values and be passionate about improving the lives of people living with mental health problems.

Project Manager

We are looking to recruit a motivated, qualified, and experienced individual to the role of project manager. The post-holder will manage the implementation of projects across Self Help Services. The projects will be of a diverse nature and include estates transitions, mobilisation of new services, tender responses, and HR consultations. Excellent communication skills will be required as the post holder will be required to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed successfully within tight time constraints.

The Sanctuary Manchester – Relief Staff, Waking Nights

We are looking for motivated and experienced individuals to provide cover for The Sanctuary Coordinator and Support Worker roles role on a flexible basis, and potentially at short notice – to ensure a positive experience for all clients.

The Sanctuary: Manchester is an ‘overnight, every night’ crisis service (8pm-6am) providing support to people living with issues such as anxiety , low mood and depression – including those with suicidal thoughts and/or in extreme panic state. The Sanctuary ‘helps people get through the night’ by providing 1-to-1 support, a safe and secure venue, and access to a calm room from which to weather the crisis and plan further support.
The roles will involve providing a welcoming, comfortable and safe experience for clients, delivering telephone and 1-1 support sessions , including relaxation and planning sessions, and working with peer volunteers to support and promote clients’ wellbeing. The Coordinator role additionally involves carrying out telephone screening and assessment with clients wishing to access The Sanctuary, taking responsibility for risk management decisions, and ensuring that clients leave their stay having a package of care and support in place.

This is an open recruitment process, with no closing date as we are recruiting on a rolling basis.

Group Development Worker

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to coordinate, develop and deliver the community-based group work provision within Self Help Services. Currently, SHS delivers 8 drop-in peer support groups across Manchester and Trafford, and psychoeducational short courses (Boost: emotional resilience, Living Life to the Full, Staying Well workshops etc). We are also developing new group provision across Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will have excellent insight into the issues faced by people with common mental health issues, be highly motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload, be able to provide support and guidance to our peer facilitator team, as well as undertake direct delivery of  a range of group sessions.

HR Administrator

We are seeking to recruit a motivated individual with excellent administrative skills, to provide a high quality HR administrative support to managers within Self Help Services. The post holder will be expected to have experience of working within an administrative role where strict confidentiality was required.
