From 3 December, the opening hours for the Sanctuary will change across Manchester, Trafford, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop. This means the Sanctuary will no longer be open from 8pm-6am. The new opening times, from 3 December, will be 6pm-1am.

During these new hours, adults across Manchester, Trafford, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop can continue to call us for support on 0300 003 7029, every night of the year, including Bank Holidays, if they are in crisis.

Our friendly staff specialise in supportingadults who are experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression or suicidal thoughts. We offer support and advice over the phone and a place to relax, talk through things, and plan for how to cope in the future.

If you need support outside of these hours, please contact:

  • The Samaritans: 116 123 (24 hours a day)
  • Mind: 0300 123 3393 (9am – 6pm, Mon to Sat)
  • Papyrus: 0800 068 4141 (10am – 10 pm, everyday)
  • Support Line: 01708 765 222 (5pm – 7pm, Mon to Sat)

We’d really appreciate it if you could help us reach more people who are in crisis and share Sanctuary cards and posters throughout community spaces. If you would like to order some free materials, please contact: pws.manchester@selfhelpservices.org.uk.
