The Sanctuary: Telephone Crisis Line Support Worker

Are you passionate about improving the lives of those living with mental health problems and working with people in crisis?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a growing team working in the field of Mental Health Crisis. You will work as part of a team helping to deliver a 24 hour model of crisis care that incorporates a 24/7 telephone line and 3 sites across Manchester for face to face interventions.

The post holder will provide day time follow up support and respond to day time crisis calls, working as part of a team offering telephone assessments, screening and interventions to assist clients in dealing with emotional crisis, referring people to overnight Sanctuary services and other mental health/social care providers.

You will have a creative and flexible approach to working with people experiencing mental health issues such as panic, anxiety and depression. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to remain calm in a crisis. You will also be committed to working within Self Help Services’ vision and values and to partnership working. Full training will be provided as we work to develop and enhance our current  service.

Crisis Services Manager – The Sanctuary, Manchester

The post holder will manage the development and operation of crisis services within Self Help Services, including The Sanctuary Manchester and new Sanctuary developments across the North West. The successful post-holder will need to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure services are delivered to the highest standard, and within an ethos of self help and peer support.

The Sanctuary, Casual Support Workers

We are looking for motivated and experienced individuals to support clients of The Sanctuary services across Bolton, Wigan & Leigh (site based in Leigh) and Manchester. The role will involve providing a welcoming, comfortable and safe experience for clients, delivering telephone and 1-1 support sessions – including relaxation and planning sessions – and working with peer volunteers to support and promote clients’ wellbeing.

There is no closing date for applications. Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis.
