Make a difference…

Volunteers are really important to Self Help and the work we do

Screen Shot 2016-03-09 at 15.45.56We value their dedication and commitment to helping people with mental health problems by making a difference to their lives in a variety of ways within our services.

As a user-led organisation, many of our staff and volunteers have personal experience of mental health issues. This is what makes our charity so unique.

“The most enjoyable part of this role is meeting and helping clients. It is so rewarding knowing someone leaves this service feeling better and that I have contributed to this”

Group Facilitation Support – Based at Oakfield House, Macclesfield

We’re looking for two volunteers interested in supporting Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to deliver a series of rolling wellbeing courses and taster workshops. This would be a good role to gain general experience in a mental health service combining direct client contact when supporting face to face groups with a PWP, telephone contact to arrange bookings and collect feedback and office based support work accurately recording and collating data as well as arranging course bookings. Full training will be given along with ongoing support.
