Self Help came up trumps in the Technology4Good Awards, scooping the Community Impact Award and the Winner of Winners award – voted for by the audience at the ceremony.

Technology4Good is a competition for organisations that use the power of computers to try and improve the world. Self Help’s eTherapy team, which runs online therapy services throughout the North West, proved they are a leading light in making a difference to mental health through technology.

Self Help’s eTherapy clients give overwhelming positive feedback with the majority willing to recommend the service to friends and family.

eTherapy is also very cost effective and achieves very good outcomes similar to one-to-one services.

Self Help’s Chief Officer Nicky Lidbetter said: “I am delighted that our innovative and responsive eTherapy services team have received the recognition that they deserve in winning not just one, but two prestigious national awards.

“eTherapy is currently under used in many parts of the country, yet has such a critical role in meeting the rising demand for psychological support from those affected by anxiety, depression and other common mental health difficulties. I hope that this achievement will help to raise the profile of e-therapy at a national level and will lead to greater commissioning of E-therapy services”.
